Abhishek Bachchan - Aishwarya Rai 4th wedding anniversary

Abhishek Bachchan - Aishwarya Rai
The latest buzz in tinsel town is related to the Bollywood star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which has successfully completed four years of marital bliss.

While it was being said that the duo would be having a working anniversary, junior Bachchan, who is busy with the promotions of his Rohan Sippy film ‘Dum Maro Dum’ that releases this Friday, is taking out some time from his busy schedule to be with his gorgeous wife on their big day.

Reportedly, Abhi is slated to spend the first half of the day fulfilling his work obligations in Hyderabad, and then he will board a flight to his home in the evening, to celebrate his fourth marriage anniversary with family and friends.

“The two are planning to take off on a romantic week-long holiday soon after Ash returns from Cannes next month and before Abhishek launches into his next project”, disclosed a close.

Informing that Ash would be heading off to Cannes alone this time, an insider revealed, “Abhishek will be shooting in Russia for Players. And the 15-day long schedule will make it impossible for him to be by Aishwarya’s side at the red carpet event”.

Big B upbeat about his son’s anniversary
It seems that Amitabh Bachchan is more excited about his son’s anniversary and though four years have passed since Abhi and Ash got married, he said that he felt that it all happened only recently.

Writing on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com, the ‘Shehanshah of Bollywood’ posted, "It's Abhishek and Aishwarya's wedding anniversary today the 20th of April and have wished them before they turned in. Cannot imagine it's been four years!”

Everyday with Ash is special, says Abhi
Meanwhile, revealing that every day that he spent with his lovely wife was special for him, Abhishek said that while family comes first for them, they cannot run away from their work also.

Admitting that the constant media attention did have its toll, he said, “We may be actors, but we are like any other normal couple too. We never let the lines blur”.

Well, we hope that the couple remain happily married forever, and here’s wishing them a ‘Happy Marriage Anniversary’.

Shania Twain got her happily ever after on New Years Day, tying the knot with Frédéric Thiébaud in Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Above is one of the first public photos of the newlyweds, who said their "I do"s on the beach at sunset, in front of 40 of their closest friends. Shania was escorted down the aisle by her 9-year-old son, Eja.

Shania and Fred's romance began in 2008, after both allegedly discovered their then-spouses were having an affair with one another. The former couples were longtime friends, as Fred's ex-wife, Marie-Anne, worked in Shania's home with the singer's husband of 14 years, rock producer Robert "Mutt" Lange.

Though Marie-Anne and Mutt denied an inappropriate relationship, both marriages dissolved, with Shania and Fred finding comfort in one another.

Fred proposed to his country superstar love a few months ago, presenting her with a three carat Lorraine Schwartz sparkler.

'I'm in love!" Shania wrote on her blog last month, announcing her engagement to fans. "Frédéric Nicolas Thiébaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship."

Mrs. Shania Twain Thiébaud has big plans for her first year of marriage. She's set to release an autobiography and will also star in her own reality television special, 'Why Not? With Shania Twain,' on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey network. And then there's the big possibility of a new album -- something fans have been waiting for almost a decade.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt likely to tie knot in Jodhpur.

Angelina Jolie and Brad PittThis time, no less than Hollywood's power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are set to tie the knot amid the chanting of mantras in India and an ashram in Rajasthan could be the venue for their Hindu wedding ceremony, sources say.

"Jolie, 35, and Pitt, 46, will marry in the new year and Siddha Guru Ram Lalji Siyag of Bikaner will conduct the ceremony," a source close to the guru told IANS.

He said though the date has so far not been finalised, chances are the wedding will take place in the ashram known as Adhyatma Vigyan Satsang Kendra of Guru Siyag, 83. It is situated in Chopsani area of Jodhpur.

"Guruji was asked to perform the rituals in a five star hotel situated in the city, but he refused to hold the ceremony there and suggested it could take place in his ashram," he said the guests of the celebrities can stay in a resort near the ashram.

"We are waiting for a reply from the couple on this," he added.

According to the source, Guru Siyag has been helping the couple find inner peace and harmony and strengthening their nearly five-year relationship by making them practice Siddha yoga together.

In October 2006, Angelina and Brad had visited Jodhpur and stayed at Umaid Bhawan Palace. During their two-day trip, they went for jewellery shopping and purchased traditional Rajasthani accessories.

The two have three adopted children - Maddox, Pax and Zahara - as well as three biological children - Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.

Siddha Guru Siyag founded the spiritual organisation Adhyatma Vigyan Satsang Kendra about 20 years ago in Jodhpur. Siddha Yoga corrects disharmony of the body and mind. "Guru Siyag's Siddha Yoga For Spiritual Evolution & Holistic Healing" is the tagline of the organisation.

India is fast becoming a favourite wedding destination for Hollywood celebrities. British comedian Russell Brand and singer Katy Perry had tied the knot as per Hindu rites in Rajasthan in November. Chelsea Clinton’s wedding dress

Chelsea Clinton
A letter in a recent issue of Time magazine thanked the editors for having the courage to print the cover image and story about the mutilation of a young girl’s face by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The unfortunate girl who was caught fleeing the home of her abusive in-laws had her nose and ears sliced off by her husband while the brother-in-law held her down. She was left bleeding and unconscious on a mountainside. The reader ended by saying: “We get so wrapped up in today’s water cooler gossip in our celebrity-centric society (Mel Gibson’s rants, Heidi Montag’s surgeries, Chelsea Clinton’s wedding dress) that we forget about the real issues affecting this world.”

Now, while a perverted vision of some abusive fourth century frontier justice that horrifically mutilates and degrades women for attempting to assert their dignity is in no way conscionable, it’s interesting to note the comment made vis-à-vis ‘real issues’ . Because the irony is that our perception of such things usually refers to front page stuff, not something that’s buried inside or never mentioned at all.

So what actually makes water cooler gossip a not-so-real or unreal issue? A celebrity undergoing a liposuction procedure is news for a great deal of people. But the way we teach ourselves to deal with this phenomenon is by according it lesser importance in some cosmic scale of things. As if God who tracks the fall of each sparrow somehow relegates the event to a lower pedestal than the fall of the Roman Empire.

Also, by this token, the absolute obliteration of a mosquito by squashing its entire body parts to a smear of pulp on our skin can somehow never be equated with a poacher carving a living rhino’s horn out of its head and leaving it to die a bloody death. In fact even the idea of such a heinous comparison is insane, laughable and absurd. Enormity, visibility and in-your-face action apparently matters; not the loss of a life.

The young novice, new in the monastery, was in a hurry for personal illumination. On the second day he mustered the courage to go up to the Master who was deep in meditation and waited at his lotus feet till he opened his eyes before asking what he needed to do in order to gain enlightenment. He was told to sweep the yard and wash the utensils in the kitchen. Fourteen years later the man was still doing the same thing. And no, he was not the new Master in the monastery now.

Shashi Tharoor - Sunanda Pushkar Wedding Reception

Shashi Tharoor weds Sunanda Pushkar in a simple function : Kerala.

Shashi Tharoor - Sunanda Pushkar Wedding pictureIn a traditional ceremony held at his ancestral home in Kerala, former Union minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor tied the knot with his Dubai-based fiance Sunanda Pushkar on Sunday. The marriage shorn of extravaganza was held in the presence of Tharoor's 94-year-old grandmother Jayasankari Amma and other family elders.

The function was held at the 200-year-old ancestral home of Tharoor at Elavanchery village near Kollangodu at about 8.30 am on Sunday. The 54-year-old-diplomat-turned politician, representing Thiruvananthapuram in Lok Sabha, tied the thali (mangalsutra)' around the neck of his Kashmiri bride before the couple garlanded each other and the bridegroom handed over the pudava', a piece of new clothing, to the bride, as per a tradition for Nair families.

Tharoor's maternal uncle and local CPM leader Narayanan Unni led the rituals which were held to the accompaniment of traditional percussion and wind instruments. Both Tharoor and Sunanda were in typical Kerala dress, woven specially by handloom experts of Balaramapuram, in Tharoor's constituency.

The ceremony began with the couple seeking the blessings of elders including Jayasankari Amma. Tharoor's sons Ishaan and Kanishk, both journalists born to his first wife, Sunanda's son Siva from her second marriage, Sunanda's father Col Pushkarnath Das, Tharoor's sisters Sobha and Smitha and Rajya Sabha MP Mani Shankar Aiyar were among those present at the function.

The ceremony, which lasted about 45 minutes, ended with the family distributing sweets. Apart from Aiyar, no other Congress leaders or dignitaries participated in the event. The family had chosen to keep it a low-key affair. Just about 100 people attended the function excluding mediapersons who came from different parts of the country to cover the high-profile wedding.

Tharoor and wife later attended a harvest festival held at his house and enjoyed a traditional Kerala feast, prepared using grains from the first harvest of this season. They left for Thiruvananthapuram by evening.

This is the third marriage for both the former UN under-secretary general as well as Sunanda. Tharoor's first wife was an academic Tilottama Mukherjee. He recently completed divorce proceedings with his second wife, a Canadian, Christa Giles.

Pushkar was earlier married to a fellow Kashmiri named Sanjay Raina. After the marriage ended in a divorce, she married a Kerala businessman Sujith Menon who died in a road accident in 1997. She has a 17-year-old son from her second marriage.

Sunanda had grabbed headlines for alleged possession of a sweat equity stake worth Rs 70 crore in the controversial Kochi IPL franchise. The controversy, kicked off by IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi, had resulted in Tharoor's resignation from the Union ministry.
