Deepika Padukone clearly loves her tattoos

Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone clearly loves her tattoos. First it was the RK tattoo at the base of her neck and then another one depicting an anklet. No wonder, she was chosen as an ambassador by the organizers of the first Tattoo Convention.

The remixed version of the iconic song 'Mit Jayee gham’ sees Deepika sporting a scorpion tattoo and swinging to the tune with an attitude. After watching the song, IndiaInk Invention got in touch with her and requested her to visit their first ever convention which took place on Sunday, 10th April 2011.

However, the actress was shooting in London for ‘Desi Boyz’ and was unable to attend the convention. She forwarded the invitation to the ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ team. Abhishek Bachchan, Prateik and Rohan Sippy attended the convention instead.

Manoj Thakur, Partner at Par Excellance Entertainment says, "Deepika Padukone’s absence was felt, especially at an event that she would have readily identified with. With her own much-written about the tattoo at the base of her neck and the cutting-edge tattoo she’s seen sporting in the movie, she would have been the perfect ambassador for this tattoo expo."

The cast of Dum Maro Dum launched the special Dum Maaro Dum tattoo at the convention.

Goa lawmakers to discuss 'Dum Maaro Dum'

Goa Assembly to discuss Dum Maaro Dum.

Dum Maaro DumFormer Goa Tourism Minister Fransisco Pacheco today moved a calling attention motion on Rohan Sippy's forthcoming movie Dum Maaro Dum claiming it will spoil the state’s image and affect its tourism industry.

The NCP legislator added that the already dented image of the Goan tourism industry would be further damaged by the movie.

Pacheco said, “We are looking at family tourism in the state. We don't want the sex and drug tourism spot tag (for Goa),” he said. The calling attention motion will be taken up by Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Pratapsingh Rane during the ongoing session.

The leader, who was the brain behind the famous Go Goa 365 Days Holiday Destination campaign, said that people believe whatever is shown in movies. “Looking at the promos, it is clear that it portrays a bad image of Goa,” he said. He added that he would also move the High Court seeking a ban on the release of the movie.

“If the movie is fiction, they should have avoided naming Goa in it. An entire state cannot be defamed by a filmmaker's imagination,” he said.

Efforts to contact Sippy's publicist fetched no response. The state police had earlier asked the producer to screen the movie for them before releasing it in theatres. Chief Minister Digambar Kamat had also said that he would ask the police to look into the matter.

Dum Maaro Dum stars Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu and is due to release in mid-April.

Deepika's 'Dum Maro Dum' track sizzling and sexy

Deepika Padukone in Dum Maaro DumGear up to see the voluptuous Deepika Padukone grooving on the sizzling remixed version of the 1970s track, 'Dum Maro Dum' in Rohan Sippy's forthcoming film. Reportedly, the raunchy track is all set to challenge the Munni and Sheila.

Interestingly, the director of the film, Rohan Sippy is amazed with the way the peppy track has turned out.

Commenting on Dippy's erotic look in the film, director told The Times Of India, “Deepika is naturally very sexy, but she has never done anything this brazen. It is a very irreverent attitude that she needed to carry apart from being sexual on the screen.

“DMD is an attitude, it is all about breaking free. Breaking free from conventions, fears and taboos.”

Deepika shifts from mini to shorts

Scared of the mini designed by Anahita Adajania Shroff, Deepika Padukone asked the director to change her outfit and use shorts instead. No, the mini was not horrifying, but too short.

Palpably, in order to give a sexy and sensuous look to the item track, Anahita had designed a short mini, for the first time. When Deepika donned the outfit, she looked outrageous, and received many positive comments. However, trouble began when DP started rehearsing for the song.

The mini barely covered the actress' derriere, which consequently made the actress feel awkward.

“The skirt Anahita designed barely covered the actress's derriere yet looked stunning on her,” a source familiar with the matter revealed.

“During trials, DP received several compliments. Director Rohan Sippy had briefed her and she understood that the song needed sexy clothes. The trouble began when she started rehearsing for the song. The steps were difficult to do because of the skirt's length."

Though Rohan even agreed to change the dance steps of the song, Deepika requested him to alter the skirt instead.

Bipasha upset with the trailer of 'Dum Maro Dum'?

Rohan Sippy's 'Dum Maro Dum' has landed itself into troubled waters ever since its trailer has been released.

Initially, it was Dev Anand, who showed disagreement towards the permission for rights of the 70s track 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna', and later, the Goa government demurred the trailer alleging that it exhibited the state in a wrong way.

Now, it's the film's lead heroine, Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu opposing the poster as it flaunts only Deepika Padukone in her sexy look.

Clarifying about the poster, an industry insider said, “There were various debates about how the first look poster of the film will be made. Finally it was decided that rather than having Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu on the posters of the film it would be nice to have Deepika who features in the item song `Dum Maro Dum'.

“When Bipasha learnt about the poster she was not very happy and called Rohan Sippy who explained his promotional strategy to her.”

Though Bips has dodged such reports, we completely understand your stance, Bipasha, after all you are the female lead!

Bipasha's take on the rumors

Elaborating about the poster, Bips said, "I was the first one to tweet about the first look of DMD because I loved it and am super excited about our film. Deepika is a super dancer and has done total justice to our song. There are no controversies here.”

While the director said, “Deepika is doing a title song of the film. On the teaser poster you can hardly recognise Deepika.

It's brand Dum Maaro Dum and Bipasha is the female lead of the film. But I guess that's what happens with guest numbers and with iconic songs.”
