A sourceclose to the star revealed that she was ill right after she landed from Toronto.

“She was down with high fever and the doctors ran all tests including those for malaria and dengue. However, the ailment was diagnosed as typhoid and Sonam’s been advised bed-rest for at least two weeks more.”

The actress, who’d been working non-stop after the mad-rush of I Hate Luv Stories and then Aisha, is currently recuperating at home. Understandably, both mom Sunita and dad Anil Kapoor are maha-worried about the health of their darling daughter.

“Yes, I’m down with typhoid and not particularly enjoying this break. But it’s given me a chance to catch up on a lot of movies and books for sure,” Sonam tells DNA.

Sonam’s also had to postpone her shoot for Anees Bazmi’s Thank You apart from canceling three photoshoots for various magazines. However, the actress’s not letting her illness keep her from work altogether, and in between the much-needed rest stays busy with script narrations.

“I was enjoying my work too much and even though the pace was super-hectic, it was fun!” she revealed. “I would have loved to take a good break much later like a a long vacation abroad and loads of good food, but now that’s completely off my menu,” she rues.

And till then, Sonam’s enjoying being pampered silly by her parents, younger sis Rhea and some close friends, who can’t stop fussing about her. “I’m being made to feel like a baby again!” she smiles adorably.
