CBI arrests 4 for leaking Navy recruitment exam paper.
News Updates! The question paper of a Navy test for the recruitment of lower division clerks had been leaked to 150 candidates, the CBI said Sunday after arresting two Navy personnel and two civilians.
The 150 candidates from various parts of the country, who took the test at Navi Nagar Centre today, had paid between Rs 15,000 and Rs 50,000, will be the CBI’s witnesses, said Rishi Raj Singh, CBI joint director (Mumbai). The examination has been scrapped and will be rescheduled.
Those arrested include R C Naik and D S Murthi, administration officers in Western and Eastern Naval Commands. The civilians are Ranbir Singh Rawat, who owns Manasa International Defence Recruitment Agency in Vishakapatnam, and Hoshiyar Singh, a teacher in Haryana.
“We had a tip-off that Naik had leaked the paper, using a pen drive that he handed over to Murthi who, in return, took out a number of prints in Pune,” Singh said. The copies were then allegedly handed over to Rawat, who was formerly with the Navy, and who had put up the 150 candidates at United Lodge, Crawford Market.
