'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' Trailer

'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' Trailer: Breaking Down What's New.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows News Updates!
It seems like it's a pretty fair statement to say that the first "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" trailer is one of the best trailers to come out this year. Fortunately, the trailer that’s looking to take its title of most epic tease for a movie ever is the most recent trailer solely for "Part 1," which was just released tonight. Let's just get this out of the way: all of the scenes that fans will want to see from "Part 1" are in this trailer. Seriously, can it be November already?

So take your times watching the trailer about a hundred times, let's break down all the new stuff in the trailer (there's plenty of it, I promise) and, for all of you uninitiated, why it’s so exciting to finally get to see.

Dumbledore, Dumbledore, Dumbledore!

If you were at Comic-Con, or checked out our earlier coverage of the new stills released from this trailer, then you've already seen the shot of Voldemort leaning over a dead Dumbledore. But here we actually see Voldemort opening the former Hogwarts headmaster's tomb at 0:13, and then of course that chilling but awesome aforementioned scene. There's also a brief flash of maybe Dumbledore's eye in Harry's two-way mirror at 0:34 (we won't give away the twist!) which it is fortunate director David Yates included in the film. But the best Dumbledore-related scene comes at 0:25, when we get a very, very brief shot of the ghost of Dumbledore that's guarding 12 Grimmauld Place. Chilling, but awesome.

Bill and Fleur's Wedding

We've heard this is just a quick little scene in the film, but we're glad that the trailer included the unfortunate closing moments of Bill and Fleur Weasley's wedding in the trailer. The sequence starts at 1:07, where we can hear the whole party tent at the Burrow, but it really hits a chilling high point when Kingsley's Patronus lands in the center of the tent and whispers, "They're coming, they're coming." The Death Eaters' attack marks the steady spiral downward of Harry and his friends' luck, and what's sure to be one of our favorite moments in the film.

Magic Is Might statue

There are plenty of overt comparisons in "Deathly Hallows" of Voldemort and his Death Eaters to Hitler and his Nazis, but none more visually obvious than the Ministry of Magic's Magic Is Might statue, which can be seen at 0:46. Yes, that is a wizard standing on a platform held up by Muggles. Thank you, Yates, for going there.

The seven Potters

Yes, we saw them earlier. But it's still hilarious to watch Daniel Radcliffe act out seven different versions of himself at 1:04. This is easily going to be one of the comedic high points of a very dark film.

Harry and Ron's fight

This was another scene that was shown at Comic-Con, but hearing Ron say with pure venom to Harry, "You don't understand. Your parents are dead. You have no family," still gives us chills. Kudos to Rupert Grint for becoming an amazing actor.

Another book they will butcher.

It is not worth $9 for a ticket. I'll curl up with the book instead.
