Michael Jackson - 10 new albums to be released

Michael Jackson: 10 new albums of King of Pop to be released.

KING OF pop Michael Jackson, who died in June last year will be singing again. Dozens of songs by the King of pop which have never been heard before, will be released in 10 new albums over the next seven years, starting in November this year.

The estate of late pop icon Michael Jackson and Sony Corp. have signed a deal for $250 million to release up to 10 posthumous albums over the next seven years.

The deal between Michael Jackson estate and Sony is one of the most lucrative recording contracts in history. Months after the death of pop king Michael Jackson, $250 million deal set a music-industry record. Since the death of MJ on June 25 last year, Sony has sold an estimated 31 million Jackson albums. Michael Jackson has been with Sony's Epic label for 30 years.

Michael Jackson's worldwide fan is now eagerly waiting for the release of late pop star album of never-before-heard material which is expected to release in November. Michael Jackson has millions of fans around the world. Profits from the deal will go into a trust shared by Jackson's mother and three children.

Sony will release 10 Michael Jackson albums in $250 million deal

Michael Jackson is about to get the Tupac treatment.

The estate of the late King of Pop has inked a reported $200 million-$250 million deal with Sony Corp. that reports say will pave the way for the release of 10 new albums — in seven years time — of unreleased songs and older tracks recorded by Jackson.

The deal resembles what happened with Tupac Shakur, when fans were treated (some say inundated) with a flood of posthumously released songs, including outtakes, remixes and reworked material.

"This agreement with Sony Music demonstrates the lasting power of Michael's music by exceeding all previous industry benchmarks," said John Branca, the attorney who is an administrator of the Jackson
estate.

Jackson died suddenly at age 50 on June 25, as he was preparing for a series of comeback concerts at London's O2 Arena. He was the top-selling U.S. artist of 2009, with more than 8.3 million albums sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The week following his death saw the singer with the three top-selling albums in the United States.

The first project featuring unreleased music is expected for release this November, Sony said in a statement. The deal will also let Sony sell licensing rights Jackson's songs for use in movies, video games and other outlets, said the Wall Street Journal.

The deal will help the Jackson estate pay off about $125 million of debt and refinance $325 million backed by Jackson's stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing and his 2,600-acre Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara, the Journal reported.
