EA announces 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Football Game.
January 31 2010 : EA is still riding on the back of their hugely successful launch of FIFA 10. But that wont stop them.
The company has announced the only official and exclusively licensed video game for the 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa, titled EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The game will release for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and mobile in April 2010.
EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will feature all 199 national teams that took part in qualification, all 10 official stadiums which are to be used in South Africa, plus the stadiums for each qualifying region.
Gamers will be able to play as the nation of their choice right from qualification up to the Word Cup Final. The detail in the game is taken to a new level, complete with confetti rain, streamers, and fireworks.
And for the first time in a video game, gamers will be able to compete in a full and authentic online World Cup tournament, from the group stages through to the knockout rounds. The game also features the home and away strategies for every nation, as well as altitude effects which influence how players get fatigued as well as the flight of the ball.
The game for the Wii features a Zakumi's Dream Team mode, in which Wii gamers will be able to travel around the globe virtually, to take on all 32 nations competing in South Africa.
EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is developed by EA Canada, and is expected to be available at North American retail on April 27, 2010 and in stores across Asia and Europe from April 30, 2010.
